Every price on this site comes from a published price guide or a price a Savannah company publishes. These are the sources behind the cost estimator and our cost pages. All were checked on October 22, 2026, and we re-check them every 6 months.

How we use them
- Each repair range runs from the lowest to the highest figure its sources give.
- Central AC prices by size are Fixr's. Heat pump and AC-with-furnace prices start from Savannah and Georgia 3-ton figures and move $400–$700 per half ton, the step HVAC.com gives.
- Where a Savannah company publishes a price (Service Experts Savannah's standard tune-up and drain cleaning rates), we show it next to the national range. Specials and promotions aren't used in the estimator.
- We don't apply a regional adjustment to national figures. Totals are rounded outward and always shown as a range.
Also referenced
- This Old House, How much does an air conditioner cost? (updated October 2, 2026). Reports higher national averages for a new central AC by size (for example $8,654 for 3 tons), from installed-project data. Shown on the installation page for comparison; the estimator uses Fixr's size ranges.
- IRS, Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit (page reviewed April 28, 2026). The federal 25C credit applies to improvements made through December 31, 2025, so a system installed in 2026 doesn't qualify.
- US EPA, Technology Transitions HFC restrictions by sector (updated August 28, 2026). New residential AC and heat pump systems are limited to refrigerants with a global warming potential (GWP) of 700, from January 1, 2025, with no installation deadline for systems whose components were all made or imported before then.
HomeGuide's cost pages and the Georgia Secretary of State's licensing pages block automated readers, so we couldn't check them for this site and don't cite them.
